No. FHA does not offer free inspections. An FHA-insured loan requires an appraisal by an FHA-approved appraiser, and the buyer pays the appraisal fee as part of closing costs. The appraiser checks the property against FHA minimum requirements, but an appraisal is not a home inspection. The borrower does receive a free copy of the appraisal report, which the lender must provide no later than three days before closing.
