Do sellers get to know the appraisal value?

Sellers are not automatically entitled to a copy of the appraisal. The lender orders the appraisal, and federal rules require the lender to provide the borrower a copy no later than three days before closing. No equivalent rule requires the lender to give the seller the report, so if a seller learns the appraised value, it comes through the parties themselves rather than from the lender.
