How do I become a supervisory appraiser?

To become a supervisory appraiser, you must hold a Certified Residential or Certified General credential for at least three years and be in good standing, with no disciplinary action in the last three years affecting your ability to practice. You must also complete the Supervisory Appraiser/Trainee Appraiser course before supervising. By Appraiser Qualifications Board criteria, a supervisor may not supervise more than three trainees at one time unless the state runs a program with progress monitoring; Texas permits up to five with an approved supervision plan.
