How often do I have to renew my real estate license?
Renewal cycles for real estate appraiser licenses are set by each state. Most states use a two-year cycle with continuing education, commonly 28 hours including the 7-Hour National USPAP Update, but cycles range from one year in Georgia to three years in Maryland and Oklahoma. California pairs a two-year license term with a four-year continuing education cycle.
Massachusetts appraiser licenses renew every two years. An initial license runs 24 months from the next birthday after issuance, and each renewal term runs two years on the anniversary of the licensee's birthday. The renewal option appears in the eLIPSE portal only when the expiration date is 90 days or less away.
