How do I become a real estate closing agent?
The answer depends on your state. Pick yours to see it.
In Florida, only a licensed and appointed title insurance agent, a Florida Bar attorney, a financial institution, or a licensed real estate agent may act as a closing or escrow agent. To become a title agent (license 4-10), complete a 40-hour department-approved title insurance course or 12 months of responsible title duties within the last 4 years, pass the state title exam, apply through MyProfile, and get fingerprinted. The license requires an appointment by a title insurer before you can transact business.
