How do I become a title search agent?
The answer depends on your state. Pick yours to see it.
In Florida, title search work falls under the title insurance agent (4-10) license. To earn it you must be at least 18, a Florida resident, and either complete a department-approved 40-hour title insurance course (including 3 hours of ethics) within 4 years of applying or show at least 12 months of responsible title insurance duties; both paths require passing the state examination. You must also be fingerprinted and pay a $10 application fee plus a $5 license ID fee.
