How much do Medicare agents make during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)?
Medicare Advantage organizations may pay agents a one-time commission per enrollment capped at federal fair market value benchmarks: $539 nationally, $607 in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC, $672 in California and New Jersey, and $370 in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. For contract years beginning with 2025, renewal-year compensation must be paid at 50% of fair market value. Agents must also pass annual testing with a score of 85% or higher.
