How much do Medicare insurance agents earn?
There is no standard salary; Medicare Advantage agents earn commissions that federal rules cap at fair market value benchmarks: $539 per initial enrollment nationally, $672 in California and New Jersey, and $607 in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and DC. Renewal-year compensation is paid at 50% of fair market value, and referral payments are capped at $100 for a Medicare Advantage referral and $25 for a Part D referral. Agents must also pass annual product testing with a score of 85% or higher.
