Is the life insurance exam hard to pass?

Most first-time test takers pass, but a sizable share do not: industry estimates put state pass rates roughly between 55% and 70%, and Texas reported a 60% pass rate for its life, accident, and health exam in February 2021. Pass rates fluctuate by state, and some states do not publish them. Candidates typically need roughly 35 to 40 hours of study, spread over several weeks rather than crammed.
