What is the CPCU exam, and how do I take it?
The CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) is a professional designation from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, not a state licensing exam. Several states credit it in licensing: Texas exempts CPCU holders from the General Lines property and casualty examination, Florida exempts them from the general lines agent and all-lines adjuster exams, and New York lets CPCU designees waive the property and casualty prelicensing course.
