What is the difference between a Florida 2-14 and a 2-15 insurance license?
The Florida 2-14 license covers life insurance, including annuities and variable contracts, while the 2-15 license is the combined Health and Life license with the same annuity and variable contract authority. A 2-15 holder can also sell health coverage; a 2-14 holder cannot. Florida also offers a separate 2-40 Health license for agents who want health authority without the life line.
The Florida 2-14 is the resident Life (Including Annuities & Variable Contracts) license, while the 2-15 is the resident Health & Life (Including Annuities & Variable Contracts) license. A 2-14 lets you sell life insurance and annuity contracts; a 2-15 also covers health insurance, including health maintenance organization representation. The 2-14 requires a 30-hour prelicensing course and the 2-15 requires a 60-hour course, and both require the state examination.
