What is the difference between a property and casualty insurance license and a life and health insurance license?
A property and casualty (P&C) license covers insurance against loss or damage to property, such as auto, home, and commercial coverage, plus legal liability for injury or damage to others. A life and health license covers two separate lines: life insurance, including death benefits and annuities, and accident and health or sickness coverage, such as medical and disability insurance. States license these lines separately, and an agent must hold the license for each line of authority sold.
