What is the health insurance marketplace?

The health insurance Marketplace is the federal platform where consumers shop for Affordable Care Act health plans. Agents and brokers who want to help consumers enroll must hold a health-related line of authority in their resident state, and they must complete annual registration and training through the CMS Marketplace Learning Management System before assisting with enrollment. Agents without an approved health-related line of authority have no access to Marketplace systems.
