What is the life insurance broker license exam, and how do I take it?
There is no separate national exam; a candidate seeking a life broker license takes the state licensing test for the Life line of authority. New York, which licenses agents and brokers separately, sends both to the same life licensing exam administered by PSI Services, and you must pass it within 2 years of applying for the license. To take it, complete any required prelicensing education, register with your state's exam vendor (usually Pearson VUE or PSI), and pass before submitting your license application.
