Where can I find a study guide for the life and health insurance exam?
The exam administrators themselves publish the best study materials. Each state's testing vendor, usually Pearson VUE or PSI, publishes a candidate handbook and exam content outline listing every testable topic and the question count per section, available free from the vendor's website. Pearson VUE also sells national practice tests for $19.95 each, with 50 general questions and 25 state-generic questions, Prometric offers free practice tests for life, health, and property/casualty, and PSI provides a free test prep app with practice tools.
PSI, the vendor that administers Arkansas insurance exams, publishes the Arkansas insurance candidate information bulletin, which outlines exam content, procedures, and fees for the Life and Health exams. PSI also offers online practice exams for a fee. Arkansas requires a 20-hour prelicensing course for each of the Life and Accident & Health lines, and you must present your certificate of completion at exam check-in.

Pearson VUE also offers online practice tests for the Life, Health, and Property and Casualty exams. The Iowa Insurance Division does not endorse any study materials or vendors.

There is no state-issued study guide, because Texas does not require prelicensing education. Pearson VUE, the state's exam vendor, publishes the official content outline for the General Lines Life, Accident, and Health exam in English and Spanish. The outline details both parts of the exam: 100 scoreable general questions on insurance products and 30 scoreable questions on Texas law, plus unscored pretest questions.
