Mortgage loan originator licensing guides

Every mortgage loan originator in the US is licensed through the same national system. The SAFE Act sets the core requirements: at least 20 hours of pre-licensing education, the national SAFE MLO test, and a credit check and FBI fingerprints, all filed through NMLS. Each state adds its own regulator, fees and extra course hours on top. Our guides explain the shared path once, then cover what your state does differently.
