How long does it take to renew a real estate license?

Renewal can be submitted up to 90 days before the license expiration date through the eLicensing online system or by mail. The DRE emails a renewal reminder approximately 90 days prior to expiration. If a licensee submits a completed renewal application with the correct fee and continuing education evidence before the expiration date, they may continue operating under the existing license until the renewed certificate is received or DRE notifies them to cease, per Business and Professions Code Section 10156.2. IDFPR states that it takes 2 to 4 business days for a renewed license to post in the system and for the license status to update. The renewal window opens approximately 2 to 3 months before the license expiration date, and renewals can be submitted online through the IDFPR Online Services Portal during that period.

The New Jersey Real Estate Commission does not publish a specific processing time for license renewal. Renewal is completed online through the NJ Online Licensing Services portal after you finish 12 CE credits and submit a Qualifying Questionnaire. It takes approximately 10 business days for CE completion to transfer from the course provider to PSI's tracking system and then to the Commission, so you should complete CE well before the April 30 deadline.

You can begin the renewal process up to 3 months before your license expiration date, and the Department of State sends an email and postcard reminder at that time. Oklahoma real estate licenses must be renewed every three years. Renewal access opens 60 days before the expiration date through the OREC License Portal, and active licensees must complete all continuing education by the renewal date to avoid lapsed status. If a license has been lapsed for less than one year, renewal is still possible through the License Portal with additional late fees.

License renewal is completed online through Tennessee's CORE system at core.tn.gov. TREC sends a renewal notice about 90 days before the expiration date, and license holders should complete continuing education at least 10 days before the expiration date to allow processing time.
