Your first California real estate license renewal is due before the expiration date listed on your license. California real estate licenses are issued for a four-year period. You may submit your renewal through DRE eLicensing up to 90 days before your license expiration date. To renew on time, your renewal must be completed or postmarked before midnight on your license expiration date.
If your license expires, you may renew on a late basis for up to two years after the expiration date, but you may not perform licensed real estate activities until the license has been renewed.
