How do I become a certified mortgage advisor?

The mortgage industry's advanced credential is the Certified Mortgage Consultant (CMC) from the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB). The exam measures the knowledge of mortgage professionals who have been in the industry for at least five years, and it costs $375 to $550 depending on membership level. The designation renews every 3 years and requires a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education within that period, with renewal costing $150 to $250.
