How do I become a successful mortgage broker?
The answer depends on your state. Pick yours to see it.
To become a mortgage broker in Florida, you must obtain an entity-level license: file the company application through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), pay a $425 nonrefundable application fee, and designate a principal loan originator who has been licensed for at least 1 year. Each control person must submit fingerprints for FDLE and FBI checks and authorize an independent credit report. The license renews annually by December 31 with a $375 renewal fee.
