How do I find a mortgage broker?
NMLS Consumer Access (NMLSConsumerAccess.org) is a free, searchable public website where you can look up licensed mortgage companies, branches, and individual loan originators by name, company, location, or NMLS ID. Each record shows license numbers and statuses by state and whether the person or company is authorized to conduct business. You can also check for disciplinary orders with your state mortgage regulator.
Use NMLS Consumer Access, the free public website of the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System, to look up any mortgage broker, loan officer, or company and confirm they are authorized to do business in your state. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau also suggests checking with your state regulator for disciplinary orders against a loan originator or company.
