How long should I study for the MLO license exam?

Most candidates study for a few weeks after finishing pre-licensing education before sitting for the SAFE MLO Test. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) recommends reviewing its published content outline, the only study material it produces. The outline weights loan origination activities at 27%, federal mortgage laws at 24%, general mortgage knowledge at 20%, ethics at 18%, and uniform state content at 11%.
