How much does a consumer lender make?

Consumer lenders fall under the Bureau of Labor Statistics loan officers occupation, which includes consumer loan officers who handle loans such as car and tuition financing. The median annual wage for loan officers was $76,690 in May 2025 ($36.87 per hour). The lowest 10 percent earned less than $39,430, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $153,180.
