What does a junior loan officer do?

There is no separate "junior" license; a junior loan officer is a newly licensed MLO who performs standard loan officer duties under company supervision. Those duties include meeting with applicants, gathering and verifying financial information, explaining loan types and terms, and passing completed files to underwriting. NMLS requires every state-licensed MLO to be sponsored by a licensed company, and that company takes responsibility for the individual's compliance and supervision.
