What does a pending-deficient status mean in NMLS?

A pending-deficient status means the state regulator reviewing your application has flagged missing information or documents. NMLS is where the regulator places the deficiency and where you submit the missing items. Act quickly, because states set deadlines: New York, for example, treats an application as withdrawn if missing documents are not received within 30 days, and the applicant must then repay fees and resubmit all documentation.
