What is the attestation step in NMLS licensing?

The attestation is the step in the annual NMLS license renewal where the licensee confirms their record information is accurate and attests to meeting renewal requirements, such as continuing education. Renewal runs November 1 through December 31 each year, and the individual must complete a required attestation for each license before paying renewal fees. A missed renewal may be handled during the January through February reinstatement period if the state permits it.
