What is the best course for getting an MLO license?

Any NMLS-approved course meets the licensing requirement, so the choice comes down to format and price rather than a single "best" option. Federal law requires at least 20 hours of NMLS-approved pre-licensing education: 3 hours of federal law, 3 hours of ethics, 2 hours of nontraditional mortgage products, and 12 hours of electives. NMLS itself does not offer courses; the only study material it publishes is the SAFE MLO test content outline, which it recommends every test taker review.
