What is the deadline to submit an MLO license renewal?
The annual renewal window for state-licensed mortgage loan originators runs November 1 through December 31 in the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS), and a license not renewed by December 31 may be terminated or marked ineligible. NMLS then opens a reinstatement period from January 1 through the last day of February, though some state agencies do not participate. Some agencies set earlier deadlines; Georgia, for example, assesses a late fee unless a complete renewal is received by December 1.
