Commonly Asked Questions on New Mexico Continuing Education
Each licensed NM MLO must complete at least 7 hours of NMLS approved education, plus 1 hour of New Mexico-specific education each year. The 7 hours of NMLS-approved education include 3 hours of Federal Law, 2 hours of Ethics, and 2 hours of Non-Traditional Mortgage Lending.
NM MLOs must complete their continuing education by December 31st. However, it is recommended that you complete your NM CE at least one week prior to the deadline to allow enough time for RealEstateU to report your course completions to the NMLS.
Since New Mexico only requires a total of 8 hours of continuing education courses, you can complete the full NM CE education requirement in as early as 1 day.
