Can a convicted felon get a real estate license in Minnesota? You must complete your pre-licensing requirements and submit an application for examination or licensure before the MN Department of Commerce will determine if a license can be issued. Your Minnesota real estate salesperson license application will ask questions about prior charges and convictions. A criminal record does not necessarily prevent you from receiving your MN license. As part of the application, you must submit a written statement explaining each incident, a copy of the charging document, and a copy of a document that demonstrates the resolution of the charges or final judgment. Your real estate broker will notify you if your application has been approved or denied. The Minnesota Real Estate Commissioner has the right to deny an application on the grounds of any misleading statements made on the application, engagement in fraudulent practices, failure to comply with state statutes, or if past actions have demonstrated you to be financially irresponsible or untrustworthy.See the answer for every state

To become a broker in Minnesota, applicants must be at least 18 years old, complete a 30-hour broker pre-license course, have a minimum of three years of active licensed salesperson experience within the previous five years (or qualify for an experience waiver), and pass the broker's examination. The applicant must apply for the broker's license within 12 months of passing the exam, either as a primary broker or through association with a licensed primary broker who submits the application. To become a licensed real estate salesperson in Minnesota, you must be at least 18 years old and complete three 30-hour pre-licensing courses (Course I, Course II, and Course III), totaling 90 hours, from an approved provider listed on the Pulse Portal at pulseportal.com. Course I must be completed before taking the salesperson exam, and Courses II and III must be completed before applying for a license. PSI Services administers the exam, which you can schedule at test-takers.psiexams.com/mnre or by calling (866) 395-1006. After passing the exam, you must associate with a licensed Minnesota broker, who submits your license application through the Pulse Portal. To become a REALTOR®, a licensed real estate agent must join a local REALTOR® association and pay membership dues at the local, state, and national levels. The agent must be affiliated with a broker who also holds REALTOR® membership. National Association of REALTORS® dues are $156 per year with a $45 special assessment for the Consumer Advertising Campaign, and Minnesota REALTORS® state dues are $250 per year, with local dues varying by association.
