Overview of the RealEstateU North Carolina Real Estate Test Prep
Are you looking to get access to North Carolina real estate exam sample questions?
Or, do you need to know what will be tested on the NC state licensing exam?
Our North Carolina real estate license prep was written for students who ask themselves these exact questions.
Our test prep consists of two parts. The first part is the North Carolina real estate license exam study guide, which goes through the outline for the test and lists exactly what you need to know in a bullet point format. The second part consists of three North Carolina real estate exam practice tests.
How do you pass the North Carolina real estate exam on the first try?
The most effective way to get prepared for the exam is to go through sample questions. Pay attention to the questions you answer incorrectly and understand why the correct answer is correct. Our North Carolina real estate exam practice tests mimic the actual state licensing exam. If you can answer at least 90% of the sample questions correctly, you should do just fine on the actual state test.
In addition, we recommend that you read through the North Carolina real estate license exam study guide portion at least twice. You don't have to memorize every bullet point in the guide, but you do need to be familiar with each concept.

How long does it take to get my real estate exam results in North Carolina? You will learn your score immediately after you have finished the exam. You will receive separate pass/fail results for each section. If you fail the national section, you will be advised of your results for each of the 11 subsections. If you do not pass the state section, you will be given results of each of the two subsections. The exam proctor will print your pass/fail results. Once you have been provided with approval to move forward with scheduling the state licensing exam, you can schedule it by going to the PSI candidate website and following the simple instructions after clicking on “Government/State Licensing Agencies” from the homepage. You can also schedule your exam by calling PSI Services at 800-733-9267. No matter which method you choose to schedule your exam, it should only take you a few minutes to do so. You can schedule your exam session as much as 6 weeks in advance, if you prefer. Your best opportunity for getting an appointment on your preferred date is to contact PSI about 4 to 6 weeks before your preferred testing date.
What to do after passing real estate exam in North Carolina? Once you have passed North Carolina’s license exam and the Commission has deemed you to be of good character, you will be qualified for licensure. You can expect to receive your license certificate in the mail at the address you provided on your application form in up to 10 business days. When you receive your license, it will be in inactive, provisional status. Before you can begin practicing real estate, you will need a broker-in-charge to file a License Activation/Affiliation form online with the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. A provisional broker must be supervised at all times by a broker-in-charge when engaging in real estate brokerage activities. To remove your provisional status, you will need to satisfy the post-licensing educational requirement of 90 classroom hours. The post-licensing education program consists of three, 30-hour courses titled: • Broker Relationships and Responsibilities • Contracts and Closing • License Law, Commission Rules and Legal Concepts Once you have successfully completed all three courses, your provisional status will be automatically terminated by the Commission, as approved real estate schools automatically report course completion to the Commission. You cannot stay on provisional status indefinitely; you must complete your 90-hour post-licensing requirement within 18 months of your initial licensure. If you fail to do so, your license status will change to inactive. Once you have completed the necessary education requirement, your license will move from provisional broker to broker status. The post-licensing education requirement must be completed as in-person classroom only.
There is no limit to the number of times a qualified candidate can retake the North Carolina license exam during the 180-day examination eligibility period. Both the National and State sections must be passed within the same 180-day period; if the period expires, the applicant must refile with a new application, fee, and criminal record report, and retake both sections.
