Next, you need to submit an electronic scan of your fingerprints along with additional verification documents to the department for review and approval. 

Note that you will have to pay a one time fee of $49 for getting your fingerprints verified and approved. 

Once your background verification is completed and your application is approved, you will receive your license within a few weeks. 

Find employer sponsorship 

Congratulations on receiving your California salesperson license  after doing all the hard work and showing commitment to your career. 

However, there is one more step you must complete to activate your license and start working with clients. 

The California law requires every newly licensed professional to find a sponsoring broker or a brokerage firm licensed in the state. 

It is mandatory that you work under the supervision of a senior, more experienced broker who can provide you real-world experience and practical knowledge.

Once you have found a sponsoring broker, you must submit your employer sponsorship details to the California DRE for activating your salesperson license.
