The deadline for completion of CE courses is June 10th of every year or within 30 days. Submit a completion certificate to NCREC within a week of completing the CE coursework.

North Carolina Continuing Education Requirements

General Requirements for Real Estate Continuing Education in North Carolina

NCREC mandates 8 hours of mandatory NC real estate continuing education requirements for all license holders. You get an exemption though if your license is one year old.  

Applicants must choose a state-approved education provider, be it an in-person classroom or an online learning course. 

Real estate professionals must complete their CE courses by June 10th of every license renewal cycle. 

Specific Requirements for Real Estate Brokers Continuing Education in North Carolina

Provisional or non-BIC brokers must complete 8 hours of CE as part of the NC real estate broker continuing education requirements. 

This must include 4 hours of Broker-in-Charge update course as one mandatory course. The remaining 4 hours can be from an elective course of your choice. 

Note that the BICUP (Broker-in-Charge) update course must be completed in person from a classroom environment. 

However, you are free to complete the elective course either online or offline as per your preference.

After completing CE, you must take a test where the pass score is 70%.
