How long does it take to get my MLO license?
In general, the time it takes to get your MLO license will depend on several factors, including the state where you wish to be licensed and the specific requirements set by that particular state. All states require at least 20 hours of NMLS pre license education. While the SAFE Act does not require MLOs to complete their pre licensure education prior to scheduling and taking a test, taking the Mortgage Loan Originator course before the test is the best way to help you pass, especially if you are new to the industry.
