Wendy Fitzsimons’ tax expertise along with her corporate, real estate and estate planning background brings a unique combination of skills to her practice. In addition to her real estate expertise, Wendy Fitzsimons has had long time experience creating trusts, LLC’s and corporations for international and domestic clients.

She was also an adjunct professor of business law at CUNY, Queens College and has given numerous presentations on tax and estate planning issues to a variety of business and professional organizations. Additionally, she was awarded a Unified Court System legal fellowship by the State of New York, and she began her career as a law clerk for New York Supreme Court Justice James A. Yates. Following her clerkship she was an associate in a number of boutique New York City law firms specializing in real estate law.

Wendy Fitzsimons moved to Vermont in September of 2014, where she was trained by Steve Dardeck in all aspects of family law. This includes custodial issues, child support, paternity, as well as financial and property issues incident to divorce In January of 2021, Wendy Fitzsimons and her partner Nancy Corsones started the law firm of Corsones and Fitzsimons, LLP. Corsones and Fitzsimons, LLP represents clients in family, probate, appellate and civil litigation matters throughout the state of Vermont. They also represent buyers and sellers of real estate in Vermont and assist their litigation clients in real estate issues arising out of their litigation.

In addition to litigation, Wendy Fitzsimons also represents clients in probate planning matters. This includes the tax consequences of making gifts, and holding assets individually or through a trust. In addition, Corsones and Fitzsimons, LLP represents personal representatives in all aspects of the probate proceeding. Typically the process includes collecting the deceased’s assets, paying bills, preparing necessary tax returns, filing required legal documents, and distributing property to heirs.
